Morriston and me
At the beginning of every academic year, we feel it is important to develop the pupils’ awareness of themselves and what makes them special: their features, their identity, their culture and traditions, their home language, and their family.
We also aim to foster their sense of Cynefin and belonging to the area of Morriston. Each class takes an element of Morriston to explore in greater depth, examining our immediate community before branching out wider to Wales and the world around us.
Years 5/6 will focus on the history of the town, examining how it came to be and how it has changed over the years. The learners will compare and contrast Morriston with other places, including their own origins, whether local or global.
By the end of this mini-topic, learners will answer the following 'Big Question':
How has Morriston changed over time?
