Science and Technology AOLE update created by Miss Johns (Science Coordinator)

British Science Week 2021 (5th - 14th March)

A range of fun, engaging Science activities were planned for the children to celebrate British Science Week. Whether children were in school in a Foundation Phase class, in school in the hub or at home learning, all children were able to access a range of Science experiments during the week. Class teacher's either carried out experiments in class or posted easy step by step instructions in their planning for those children who were learning from home.

We had a brilliant time celebrating British Science Week! Here are some pictures to show some classes engaging in the experiments. For more photos and videos please check out our Twitter feed. We love Science!

Challenge Chasers Activity- 7-11 years

British Science Week 2022 - 11th - 20th March

British Science Week is a ten day celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. The children will be celebrating this week by engaging in a range of fun, exciting and challenging Science and STEM activities in their classes. The theme of British Science Week this year is 'Growth.' Nursery to Year 2 classes will be enjoying experiments from the Marvin and Milo collection as well as engaging in British Science Week packs for 'Growth' activities. Year 3 to Year 6 classes will participate in live virtual lessons each morning at 10am streamed from Swansea University. They are also sending us three Science Kit boxes so that we have everything we need to participate in these lessons! Each class will tweet their celebrations on Twitter and Class Dojo so keep an eye to see the fun we are having!

If you would like to continue the celebrations at home with your child, feel free to explore some of the Marvin and Milo experiments by clicking on this link - https://spark.iop.org/sites/default/files/media/documents/marvin_and_milo_-_combined_collection.pdf
