Science and Technology AOLE update created by Miss Johns (Science Coordinator)

British Science Week 2021 (5th - 14th March)

We are currently busy planning a range of fun, engaging Science activities for the children to celebrate British Science Week. Whether your child is in school in a Foundation Phase class, in school in the hub or at home learning, we will ensure all children are able to access a range of Science experiments during this week. Your class teacher will either carry out these experiments in class or post easy step by step instructions in their planning for those children learning from home. We will share photos to show how we have celebrated British Science week so please send in photos of your children engaging in these from home so we can include these photos in our Tweets and Dojo's.

We are counting down the days! :D

We had a brilliant time celebrating British Science Week! Here are some pictures to show some classes engaging in the experiments. For more photos and videos please check out our Twitter feed. We love Science!

Challenge Chasers Activity- 7-11 years

The Primary Science Teaching Trust is giving you the opportunity to meet past and present scientists and to learn more about people who do jobs that use science!

Each Tuesday, an activity sheet about scientists will be added to their website. They want you to send your questions back to them and their scientists will answer as many as they can in their video on the website the following week.

Key things you need to do to take part…..

  • Every Tuesday there will be an activity sheet
  • Click on the SEND US YOUR QUESTION tab on the website and complete the form to submit your question and/or upload your drawing by 5pm on Thursday the same week.
  • The following Tuesday watch the video on the website and don't forget to download the activity sheet for the next week’s scientist!
