Class Information

IMPORTANT CLASS INFORMATION

Fruit Money –

There will be no fruit given to children at the moment. We will inform parent when we are able to provide the children with fruit.

Uniform – All children are encouraged to wear school uniform and all items of school uniform need to be clearly labelled. Children do get warm during the day and will take their jumpers off. We have a jumper basket in class where the children can place their jumpers safely as in year 1/2 children are encouraged to be responsible for their own belongings. If jumpers are NOT labelled it can be very confusing for the children to identify theirs.

P.E. – The children will have 2 sessions of P.E. a week, an indoor session and outdoor session (weather permitting). Our P.E. sessions are on a Wednesday and  Friday afternoon so your child will NEED to wear a P.E. kit to school on these days.

P.E Kit– Shorts/Joggers or Leggings, T-shirt, trainers for outdoor session. Children will do P.E. barefoot in the hall.

All children have a peg in class and P.E. kits can be kept on their peg until the end of each term.

Homework –

Your child will be bringing home a homework book which contains a homework matrix. This is a list of Homework activities that they can do over the next half term. They can choose to do as many of the activities that they would like (At least 3) and these will then be recorded in their books. I will then be collecting the homework books in at the end of the half term to share and assess the children's work. If your child would like to share their work before the end of the half term you can do this by taking a picture and sending it via class dojo. We are using this system to reduce cross contamination with the books being brought back every week. I will also be sending home a Literacy, Numeracy task and spelling list. These can be done at home and stuck in their books. These activities will be linked to the learning we are doing in class. Inside their homework books I will stick the children’s HWB, My Maths and Rising Stars passwords so they can access additional learning activities.

Reading Books –

Reading books will not be sent home this term due to cross contamination. The children's books will be kept in school and the teachers will be reading with them on a daily basis in class. You will be able to read with your child using the ’Rising Stars’ reading program which all the children have passwords for. I will be issuing them a book every week at the same level as the books we are reading with them in class.  We will also be doing a daily Read, Write, Inc session where the children will be practising their reading skills.

We hope you have a lovely term.
