Autumn 2020

Autumn Term 2020

Our topic for the Autumn term is:

Why is water wet?

This terms topic lends itself nicely to Knowledge and Understanding of the World.  It is a fun topic that will involve a lot of outdoor learning.  The children will engage in activities that will undoubtedly make them very wet!  e.g. playing with bubbles, pond dipping, riverbank walking, hosepipes and watering cans.

Through our topic we will learn about:

  • How we use water in our everyday lives
  • Freezing/melting
  • The properties of water
  • Wet weather and the clothes we wear
  • Being safe around water
  • Ways water is used in our homes
  • Animals that live in ponds and streams
  • The importance of water for seeds and plants

This terms books/stories include:

  • Hooray For Fish
  • Peppa Pig -  ‘Muddy puddles’
  • Snail and the Whale

If any parent fells that they could offer anything to this topic we would be very grateful.

We look forward to your cooperation.

REMEMBER we have an open door policy so feel free to telephone/email if you have any questions, queries or concerns.

Mrs. Lucas, Miss Watkins, Miss Labbett
